I love this quick and easy air fryer roasted chick peas recipe for a garnish on soups, salads, risotto- the sky is the limit. I especially love it on my autumn Butternut Squash Soup. The clean up is simple and easy using the air fryer over traditional baking. Plus, it provides the same output in half the time with less work. Any air fryer works, but we use this air fryer.

You can season these with any spice that you like- but this is my favorite combination: garlic, paprika, turmeric and salt. My mother and great grandmother would shun me if I didn’t articulate the difference of Hungarian paprika. Hungarian paprika is not smoked, but slightly sweet and provides a distinctive flavor that I love. Great Grandma Kate says that a true Hungarian knows to keep the paprika in the refrigerator… so I would be remiss if I didn’t take this opportunity to pass on advice from the old country. Air Fryer Roasted Chick Peas Ingredients

  • 1 can Chick Peas/ Garbanzo Beans
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp oil of choice (I like avocado oil for the high smoke point)
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp paprika (hungarian, not smoked)

Air Fryer Roast Chick Peas Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees
  2. Drain chickpeas from can, lay out on paper towel and pat dry
  3. In a bowl, combine chickpeas, oil and seasonings
  4. Spray air fryer basket and add seasoned chickpeas. ‘Fry’ at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes, or until crispy. Check after 10 minutes.
